Geomatics - study of the earth measurements, is the science of measurements that encompasses land surveying, geodesy, photogrammetry and GIS. GIS - Geographic Information System is a system that combines spatial information e.g. trees as points, lakes as polygons on computer generated layers that are displayed on computer systems.
