Thank you all again. I do not own ArcInfo so cannot utilize the MATCHCOVER command nor do I own ArcEdit. However I do own AutoCad Map which I am liking more and more. This is for James Kelly who is also using AutoCad: Can you describe in detail how you went about the process of matching up the lines? I have some sort of routine but maybe you could suggest something. Thanks Hamish Have you checked out the MATCHCOVER command in ArcINFO? If you can get the lines close, bring them up in a backcoverage in arcedit and use the Transfer commands to click/click the data from line to line. Unfortunately, there is no faster way to transfer line attributes due to the inability to overlay lines features properly. I just had someone doing the above method of transfering with tiger data last week, it works. I had a tigerroads coverage for our state that didn't match on the West side. I exported it to a dxf file and used Autocad's move and scale functions to match it to our state. Once brought back into ArcView it was a very good fit. Your are limited on the attributes you can transfer though.
